In order to fit the Phobya Radiator I had to create an extra cabinet on top of the case. Before I created the cabinet I decided to sculpt two totem heads which I drew by myself on 7cm x 7cm pine wood after I gave it a basic shape in order to start sculpting.
I added some details with pyrography, red cadmium paint and also by rubbing brown powder paint to change the color of the wood to age it. Next I made a native indian spear and axe by using 2mm wood and added them later on the left and right sides of the cabinet.
I went with wood and a piece of aluminum for the main chassis. A lot of designing took place in order to fit the totems, the radiator, the power and restart buttons and the like. I also used what I call a tear effect painting technique on the chassis.
Finally the cabinet was finished. Other work included two layers of acrylic and wood for the totems and I also glued the spear and axe in place. The housing of the power and restart buttons is made out of acrylic with wood as decoration and also I attached an indian head which I bought as a necklace, on the power button.
I had to create something to increase the space between the cabinet and the case itself in order to avoid contact between the radiator fans and the power supply. I took a 2.5 cm piece of pine wood, sculpted it and burned it using a torch. I had to burn it for two reasons. To remove any leftovers from the sculpting process which normally you cant remove by sanding, and also for aesthetic reasons. For the finishing touches, three layers of mahogany varnish were added and then I attached it to the cabinet and the steel frame of the case.
